Web tension
A continuous web of material, such as paper, cloth or plastic, may be subjected to a certain amount of stress or tension throughout the manufacturing or processing process. This is referred to as web tension. Several parts of the machine, such as rollers, brakes or clamps, apply force on the web to maintain the proper tension level while controlling the tension of the web.
Web guiding
Web guiding is essential in several producing businesses and is a process used in producing industries to ensure that a web of material, such as paper, film or metal, is properly aligned and guided through various stages of processing or production. The web may be fed through machines such as printing presses, laminators or slitters, where precise alignment is critical to maintaining product quality and consistency.
Telemetry systems
The RTM X42 Telemetry System provides the tension value of single strands or wires in cage or tubular type stranding machines. All personnel involved in the production environment gain easy access to the to these important process parameters. The tension values can be displayed via the optional RTM X42.CC Control Center or via your PLC. The standardized interface provides easy and quick connectivity to your existing machine, and an optional gateway can accommodate common protocols.
